Little Fairy Pop-up Box Card

Hola!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Mama Elephant “Little Fairy Agenda” stamps and dies. These fairies are the cutest and I think they look wonderful on a pop-up box card!!

I stamped the images on Fabriano Artistico hot pressed watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx black ink. I also used some images from Mama Elephant “Sun and Moon” stamp set, I think the greenery of that set pairs wonderfully with the fairies. Next, I colored the images with Faber Castell Polychromos color pencils. I really enjoy coloring with pencils and I must say I gave this paper a try because I read somewhere that it is a good choice for color pencils and I love it! Anyway, I have to practice more, especially hair coloring, because I’m not super happy with the result.

ME-HadasAiala03

I used Lawn Fawn “Scalloped Box Card Pop-up” dies on a piece of Lawn Fawn pattern paper form “Let’s Polka in the Meadow” collection and on a piece of Canson Mi-Teintes paper to decorate the inside of the flaps. For the grass I used Lawn Fawn “Grassy Hillside Borders” and “Grassy Border” dies on some light green cardstock, blending Twisted Citron Distress Ink on the lower edge to give it some more depth. Then, I adhered these pieces to the inside panels and formed the box.

ME-HadasAiala02

Once the box is formed, I glued all the greenery and the fairies. I used a thin strip of acetate to make some of the fairies fly, I put some of them on the grass, some others on top of the greenery… I love this part of the process! Last, I stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant “Tandem Extras” on a white panel using Lawn Fawn Sage Leaf ink and added the little fairy with the magic wand. Although it’s not noticeable in the pictures, all the fairies have Wink of Stella in their wings 🙂

I hope you like this card!! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!!

Meowmaid Card

Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Sweet Möma “Miaumaid” stamp. This is the cutest mermaid cat I’ve ever seen! When I saw it I immediately fell in love and I was super lucky because the same release day I could purchase it in my local scrapbook store.

SM-Grumpyrena2019a

First, I stamped the image on a piece of Neenah paper using Memento Tuxedo black ink, masking her arms and stamping the shell to make her a bra 😀 Next, I colored it using alcohol markers. I colored some scales with a gold gel pen and then added Wink of Stella on the tail and on the shells.

SM-Grumpyrena2019c

I wanted to make a star-shaped card, so, using Lawn Fawn “Puffy Star” dies, I die cut two stars from Bristol paper, one from white cardstock and one more from vellum. To make the sea, I used Mama Elephant “Ocean Waves Trio” dies on one of the Bristol paper stars as well as on the vellum one. I inked the background star with Salty Ocean, and the ocean one with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

SM-Grumpyrena2019b

For the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn “Scripty Thanks” die on black cardstock and also on Simon Says Stamp Glimmery cardstock. I glued the two die cuts slightly offset and then adhered them to the vellum piece so I could add glue behind the sentiment to adhere it on top of the wavy panel. Next, I added that panel to the background star-shaped panel and added some clouds I had die cut using Lawn Fawn “Simple Puffy Cloud Frames” dies. Last, I used an action wobble to glue the mermaid kitty.

¡Qué buena planta!

Hola!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Lawn Fawn “Stuck on you” stamps set. This is one of the stamp sets with solid images I purchased recently, along with more Lawn Fawn inks. I don’t know about you, but I love the not-so-new trend of cacti pattern everywhere!!

LF-Planta01

The idea for this card was given by the sentiment which is a pun in Spanish: “¡Qué buena planta!” is a compliment you would say to a good-looking person, but literally translates as “such a good plant!” and, in fact, cacti are really good plants in terms of being very tough XD

LF-Planta03

First, I used Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese” die on a piece of Bristol paper. I saved the frame and worked on the inside square. I stamped the cacti using Twisted Citron Distress Ink and Lawn Fawn Jalapeño ink and added their happy faces from Lawn Fawn “Pizza my Heart” stamp set and the rosy cheeks from Lawn Fawn “Sealed With a Kiss” stamp set. That is absolutely my favorite part, they are so cute!! I masked them to do some ink blending for the background. I had some trouble here because no matter how light was the ink color I used to stamp my masks or how long I let it dry, it transferred to the background with my ink blending tool. So I had to stamp on a full adhesive post-it and fussy cut two pieces at once, so I had masks without any ink. For the background, I used Tumbled Glass and Antique Linen Distress Inks.

LF-Planta02

On an A2 panel, I used repeatedly one of the stamps from Lawn Fawn “Sharp Backdrops” set, masking stripes and stamping it with Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh ink. I stamped the custom sentiment using Concord & 9th “Perfectly Penned” stamp set and Versafine Onyx black ink and added the “howdy” with Lawn Fawn Peachy Keen ink. Then, I adhered this panel to a card base and added the polaroid frame and the scene. Finally, I added a piece of washi tape and some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!

Band Camp Birthday Card

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Avery Elle “Band Camp” stamps and dies. I love the images in this set, the animals playing their instruments are so cute!!

AE-Parade2019a

First I stamped the images on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink and colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used coordinating dies to die cut the images. I stamped the sentiment on the turtle’s banner using Lawn Fawn Narwhal ink. I had to stamp and color the turtle twice because my cat Grumpy stole it from my desk and tore it apart. Has this ever happen to you? Do your pets play with your supplies or your projects? I try to tidy up my desk every time I use it to minimize the risk, but the cats always find a way to steal something! They especially love ink blending foams. Luckily, I know that if I miss them I can find them under the couch 😀

AE-Parade2019b

For the background, I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on a piece of Bristol paper. Next, I used Mama Elephant “Birch Trees” dies on a piece of white cardstock to add some trees to my scene. I used Lawn Fawn “Puffy Cloud Borders” dies for the treetops, inking the die cut piece with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. For the grass, I used Lawn Fawn “Grassy Hillside Borders” and “Grassy Border” dies, inking the panels with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks. Finally, I glued everything together using foam tape for the front grass, the treetops, and the critters.

Sunny Sky Card

Hi there!

Today I’m showing you a card featuring Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I had the idea for this card when I made the Kissing Seals Card, and the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge was the perfect pretext to make it! This time I used a mechanism inspired by Grace’s ( @allbygracec) amazing interactive cards.

LF-Weather2019a

First, I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn “Home Sweet Home” and “Out Of This Word” stamp sets on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink and colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I die cut the sun and fussy cut the birds. I used Lawn Fawn “Simple Puffy Clouds” and “Simple Puffy Cloud Frames” dies on white cardstock and vellum to die cut some clouds for the sky.

LF-Weather2019b

I used Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables” dies to die cut a panel and I blended Salty Ocean Distress ink on it using My Favorite Things “Cloud” stencil. I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn “Let’s Bokeh” stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. Next, I run the panel through my Big Shot machine using Waffle Flower “Pull Tabs” dies to prepare the panel for the mechanism. The tab that makes the sun appear from behind the clouds is die cut using Lawn Fawn “Slide On Over” dies and to die cut the little slot in the panel I used one of the tiny dies from Mama Elephant “FBA-Monkey”. I used a brad to put together the two tabs and glued the sun to one tab and a thin strip of acetate to the pull tab mechanism that makes the bird move.

Detail of the mechanism. Please, excuse the poor quality of the picture.

Then, I glued the clouds using foam tape, being careful not to interfere with the moving parts of the mechanism. I glued this panel with foam tape to a piece of pattern paper from Lawn Fawn “Let’s Polka” collection and then adhered everything to a card base. As a final touch, I added baker’s twine to the pull tab to make it easier to use.

Hasta luego cocodrilo!

Hi!

Today I want to show you a card featuring Neat and Tangled “Later Alligator” stamps and dies. I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it and I was super lucky because I received it for participating in the Neat and Tangled Throwdown Challenge — Crafting with Compassion.

I had to make a card for my dad using these Crocodiles because he loves the song “See you later, alligator”. Every time I remember my dad and mom singing the Spanish version of this song it makes me smile 🙂

NT-Alligator2019a

I stamped the images on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. As I have a tendency to color all the images on dark colors this time I tried some more light coloring and I’m quite happy with the result. Once colored, I die cut the images with coordinating dies.

NT-Alligator2019c

I wanted to make a kind of CAS card, which is completely out of my comfort zone, so I opted for die cutting two windows on a white panel using Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Scalloped Circle Stackables” dies. Next, I used a Lawn Fawn “Stitched Circles” die slightly larger than my window to die cut two pieces from Lawn Fawn pattern paper from the Let’s Polka collections to put behind the scalloped windows.

NT-Alligator2019b

I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn inks on Narwhal, Pumpkin Spice and Guava colors (this last is my favorite so far!!). This way the sentiment coordinates with the pattern paper. I glued the circle die cuts to the card base and glued the white panel to the top left corner with foam tape. Then, I added the alligators and glued two thin stripes of pattern paper to the lower and right sides.

I’m saving this card for Father’s day, which in Spain is on March 19. I know as soon as he sees it is going to start singing 🙂

Thank you very much for stopping by! Have a great day!!

One More Valentine’s Card

Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Lawn Fawn “Rooting for you” stamps and dies. These have been on my wishlist for so long because although I love them, I hadn’t many ink pads. So lately I’ve been adding Lawn Fawn ink pads to my collection and finally decided to get this stamp set. Best purchase ever! I love it!! I wish Lawn Fawn come up with a “Rooting for you, too” stamp set with more vegetables, like corn, tomato, lettuce, aubergine or zucchini, and some “amaizeing” sentiments :p I’d love to decorate my recipe book with those!

LF-Beets2019a

First I stamped the images using Lawn Fawn Grape Soda ink and Seedless Preserves Distress ink for the beets and Twisted Citron Distress ink and Lawn Fawn Jalapeño ink for the leaves. I added the eyes with black ink and the blush with Lawn Fawn Peachy Keen ink. Then, I run the imaged through my Big Shot using coordinating dies. For the background, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar on a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper I had die cut with Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables” dies. Then I spritzed some water and dried it with a paper towel after a few seconds. I mixed Nuvo Mousse on Indian Gold color with a little bit of water and flicked some drops on my panel with a brush.

LF-Beets2019b

I wanted to frame my beets to draw attention so I used Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Scalloped Circles Stackables” on a piece of paper and then run it through my Big Shot again using a die from Lawn Fawn “Stitched Circles” dies slightly smaller. Then, I apply a layer of the mixture of Nuvo Mousse and water I had used before to this frame. I glued the background panel to the card base and adhered the golden frame. I adhered the beets using foam tape. For the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABCs” stamps to spell “Our hearts beet as one”. I heat embossed the sentiment on gold on a strip of black cardstock and then glued it to the card using foam tape. As a final touch, I added some heats from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards “Carousel Mix.

Kissing Seals Card

Hi!

Today I’m sharing another card with kissing animals 🙂 This time I used the super cute seals from Lawn Fawn “Sealed with a Kiss” stamp set. I made this card to test an idea for a pull tab card I had when I made the kissing hedgehogs card.

I stamped the images on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink. The ice piece is from Lawn Fawn “Critters in the Arctic” stamp set and the pile of presents is from “Toboggan together” stamp set. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut everything.

LF-Focas2019a

I used Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Rectangle Stackables” to die cut a piece of bristol paper and then run it through my Big Shot again using “Stitched Hillside Borders” dies. I also used Lawn Fawn “Forest Border” die on a piece of green cardstock to have a nice tree line behind the snowy hill. Next, I inked the piece that was going to be the sky with Fossilized Amber, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass Distress inks. Then, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx black ink.

I used Waffle Flower “Pull Tab” dies to make the mechanism. I wanted the seal on the left side to move towards the other seal and, at the same time, the speech bubble to appear from behind the seal on the right. I added a step-by-step photo tutorial to the end of this post!

LF-Focas2019b

Then, I adhered a panel of paper from Lawn Fawn “Perfectly Plaid Chill” collection to a card base and glued all the elements. I added a stripe of vellum I had die cut using Mama Elephant “Ocean Waves Trio” dies and inked with Salty Ocean Distress ink. That way the pull tab track is a little bit hidden.

Tutorial

You’ll need the elements on the picture: a cardstock panel, like this hillside one, with the track for the pull tab die cut; the pull tab with the small rectangular piece to make it work (kraft cardstock in the picture); an acetate strip with a slot (black cardstock in the picture); two brads. I used Waffle Flower “Pull Tabs” dies and Lawn Fawn “Slide on over” dies.

Pierce three holes. First one in the end of the black strip, the second one in the pull tab and the third one in the panel. You should determine where to pierce these holes to adapt the mechanism to your scene.

Fix the black strip to the front side of the pull tab with a brad.

Flip your panel and feed the black strip through the pull tab track. Then, insert a brad through the slot and the hole in the hillside panel. Next, feed the two small flaps of the pull tab through the track and glue the small rectangular piece to hold the pull tab.

This is how the front and the back side should look like. I added a strip of cardstock on the end of the backside to guide the pull tab.

Now, when you pull, the tab moves to the right moving the black strip which is fixed to it with the brad. As it moves to the right the stripe rotates counterclockwise around that brad because it is forced to slide its slot around the brad. And that is how this cute coupple kisses! 🙂

This is option number two: the black stripe is hidden behind the panel and emerges from there.

Choose one option or another depending on your scene or the size of the image you’ll use to hide the emerging element. I hope this clarify how the mechanism works. Please, let me know if you understand the tutorial and if you think you’ll give this a try. I’d love to see your cards using this interactive element! And thank you very much for your interest in this card!!

Sending Hedgehugs Card

Hi!!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring the super cute hedgehogs from Lawn Fawn “Hedgehugs” stamp set. This is one of my first stamp sets and I love it! Plus, I think is super fun to color the hedgehogs’ spikes.

LF-Hedgehugs2019a

I stamped the images on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I ran them through my Big Shot using coordinating dies.  Next, I used Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Rectangle Stackables” dies to die cut two panels of blue and green cardstock to be my sky and my grass, so on the green panel I used Lawn Fawn “Grassy Hillside Borders”. In that green panel, I stamped some stems from Lawn Fawn “Dad+Me” stamp set and glued the die cut flowers from Lawn Fawn “Wonderful Window” die.

LF-Hedgehugs2019-b

I wanted to make a pull tab card to make the hedgehog on the left kiss his partner. I used Waffle Flower “Pull Tabs” dies to make the mechanism. I glued the hedgehog to the panel and checked the mechanism was working fine. I adhered the grass to the blue panel and glued the scene to a piece of pattern paper from Lawn Fawn “Let’s Polka in the Meadow” collection. To complete the scene, I added some clouds (“Simple Puffy Cloud Frames” and “Simple Puffy Cloud” dies) and some heart die cuts from a piece of cardstock I had inked with Peachy Keen ink. Last, for the sentiment, I used “Bannertastic” stamp set adding a bit of color to the banner using alcohol markers.

Happy Little Critters

Hi!

Today I’m showing you a card I made for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #44 – Happy Little Critters.

Lawn Fawn’s critters stamps are my favorites. I have quite a few and I’d love to have them all! For this card, I used “Critters in the Arctic”, “Sealed with a Kiss”, “Hedgehugs”, “Baaah Humbug”, “Toboggan Together”, “Home Sweet Home” and last year’s Stamptember stamp set “Nutty or Nice?”.

I stamped all the images on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I fussy cut all the images and painted the edges with a black marker.

LF-HLC2019a

I wanted to make a trifold card to fit all the critters I had colored. I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched Hillside Borders” dies to trace the snowy hillside and the waves on masking paper and then I cut them with my scissors. I placed the mask on the long piece of cardstock I was going to use as my card base and blended Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks for a winter sky. Next, I spritzed some water and water with Perfect Pearls and dried it with a paper towel after a few seconds. For the ocean on the right side, I used Victorian Velvet Distress ink and Neat and Tangled “Rice Paddies” stencil.

LF-HLC2019b

Next, I glued all the animals to the card and stamped the sentiments heat embossing them on white. For the word “ice” I used Neat and Tangled “Journaling Alphas” dies and covered them with Lawn Fawn Prisma glitter.

I hope you like this card!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Cool winter scene

Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Neat and Tangled “Stay Cool” stamp set, which has some lovely images of cute children and critters. As I have tons of Christmas/Winter themed stamp set, I decided to make more winter cards during the season. I know everyone is making Valentines projects, but I just don’t feel in the mood yet.

NT-StayCool2019a

I stamped the images on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I fussy cut all the images. I wanted the cuffs and the hood look fluffy, so I used a snow marker and a heat gun to get the look.

NT-StayCool2019b

I used Lawn Fawn “Outside in stitched rectangle stackables” dies to die cut two panels: one for the background and the other to die cut two hills using Lawn Fawn “Stitched hillside borders” dies. I spritzed a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water on the hills to give them a frosty look.

NT-StayCool2019c

Then, I blended Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar, and Dusty Concord Distress Inks on the background panel to make a beautiful winter sky. Next, I heat embossed the sentiment on white. I glued this panel to a dark blue card base and adhered the hills and the images using foam tape. Last, I added Wink of Stella on the word COOL to give it a shiny look.

I’m happy with this card. I love the look of the snow marker on the child’s coat. I hope you like it too!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Kitty Tree Shaped Cards

Hi!

Here in Spain, many people get their Christmas gifts from the Three Wise Men on January 6. For me, Christmas is not over ’till that day so I’m sharing more Christmas cards 🙂

ME-OhKittyTree01

One of my favorite stamp sets of the year is Mama Elephant “Oh Kitty Tree”. I’m a cat owner and lover, so I couldn’t resist and had to get it. I made three shaped cards using the stamps and coordinating dies.

ME-OhKittyTree04

I stamped the image on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink and colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. For the first one I only used shades of gray but for the other two, I colored all kind of kitties. You can find my Sakura and my Grumpy on those cards 🙂

ME-OhKittyTree03

After I had colored everything I die cut the images using coordinating dies. Then, I used the same die to make three shaped card bases. I glued the die cut images to the card bases and stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card. As a final touch, I added glitter to the stars and the Santa hats, Glossy Accents to the ornaments and some details using a white gel pen.

ME-OhKittyTree02

I hope you like these cards. Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing day!

Some Christmas Cards

Hi!!!

I just wanted to wish you Merry Christmas and share a couple of Christmas card featuring Mama Elephant stamps and dies. Boy, I always find myself making all my Christmas cards in the last minute!

Mama Elephant “Me and My Yeti” stamps are one of my fav Christmas stamps. Last year I made a bunch of cards featuring the Yetis, but for this year’s ones, I wanted to use all the little images included in the set. I took as inspiration Christmas at Bullerby by Astrid Lindgren.

ME-Bullerbyn03

I stamped the images on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink, colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut them using coordinating dies. I added Lawn Fawn Prisma glitter to the roofs and the trees.  Next, I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched Hillside Borders” dies to make some snowy hills and blended a tiny bit of Cracked Pistachio Distress ink on the top of the hills. Then, I blended Cracked Pistachio and Tattered Rose Distress inks on the background panel and added the sentiment, from Mama Elephant “Sentiments from a Yeti” stamp set, with the word Christmas heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

ME-Bullerbyn02

I used Mama Elephant “Picket Fence” dies so I could have a place for the little girl to sit. I glued all the elements and images to a card base and framed the scene with a frame die cut using Mama Elephant “Madison Avenue” dies. I added polka detail to the frame using a silver pen.

ME-Bullerbyn04

As I had colored more images than I ended using, I decided to make another card. I used Mama Elephant “All Prettied Up” dies to die cut the background panel. As I’m always scared of white space, I stamped a polka pattern using Waffle Flower “Pattern Play” stamps and Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I stamped the sentiment from “Sentiments from a Yeti” with Versafine Onyx black ink.

ME-Grid01

I thought it will be nice to have the little images on a grid, and I made one using Mama Elephant “Peek a Frame” window die, running it through my Big Shot twice. Then, I blended Cracked Pistachio, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick Distress inks on the little squares.

ME-Grid02

Here comes the more tedious part: adding tiny bits of foam tape on the back of the grid. Next, I adhered it to the background and glued the little squares and all the images.

This last card is probably my favorite Christmas card for this year. Hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have an amazing week!

Easel Card

Hi!!

Today I’m sharing a birthday card I made for my nephew Telmo. He just turned 6 and he loves dinosaurs and dragons, so Mama Elephant “Me and My Dragon” stamps seemed to be the best choice. My sister always tells me he loves to display my cards in his room (which makes me so happy) so I went for an easel card. I love that is interactive too!

ME-CumpleTelmo2018a

I stamped the dragon and the cake (from Mama Elephant “Party Animals”) on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used orange for the dragon because is Telmo’s favorite color 🙂 I added some detail to him with a white gel pen and with a glitter pen. Next, I used coordinating dies to die cut the images. I used several Lawn Fawn dies (Stitched Mountain Borders, Grassy Hillside Borders, Forest Border) on color cardstock to make the scene. I blended Distress inks on the grassy hills to get some depth, and the cardstock I used for the mountains is my beloved Canson Mi-Teintes paper. For the sky, I used light blue cardstock.

ME-CumpleTelmo2018b

I scored the card base front at 2.5 inches from the bottom and glued the elements to the card base: the hills and mountains to the lower part of the card front and the sky to the upper part. I glued the dragon and the cake as well. Last, I added a piece of green cardstock I had die cut using Lawn Fawn “Grassy Border” die to the inside of the card. I scored it so it works like a stopper for the front panel. The sentiments I used are from Mama Elephant “Make a Wish” stamp set.

I hope you like this card! Hopefully, I will be sharing some Christmas cards soon!

Have a wonderful day!

Jolly Christmas Card

Hola!!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring a Purple Onion Design stamp designed by Stacey Yacula. This snowman image is so sweet!! I love it!

POD-Snowman2018a

I stamped the snowman on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and I made a mask for him. I also masked the lower part of the panel. Then I blended Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks trying to get a lighter area around the snowman. Next, I colored the image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

POD-Snowman2018b

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn “Toboggan Together” stamp set and heat embossed it on gold. Last, I decided I wanted some snowflakes falling from the sky and stamped all I could find in my Lawn Fawn stash and heat embossed them on white.

This card was quick and easy to make and I’m thinking on “mass” produce it, maybe in different colors. What do you think? Do you like it?

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice day!

Yetis’ Anniversary Card

Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card I had on my mind for a long time and I could finally make it with the pretext of our wedding anniversary. Since I had Mama Elephant “Me and my Yeti” stamps I knew they were perfect for wedding or anniversary card. By the way, I think this stamp set is one of my all time favs!!

ME-Anniversary2018a

I stamped the yetis on Neenah cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them with alcohol markers. The bouquet is from “Tiny Ninjas” stamp set. I used coordinating dies to die cut the stamped images. As I wanted to frame the two yetis, I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched ovals” dies to die cut an oval frame from a soft blue cardstock nesting two dies. I also die cut an oval from Bristol paper and inked it with Tattered Rose Distress ink for a soft background. I repeatedly stamped “love + happiness” from “Sentiments from a Yeti” stamp set in a rectangular piece of cardstock using Mama Elephant Winter ink, which is perfect for this soft background.

ME-Anniversary2018b

I adhered all the pieces to a card base and added a bow tie to one of the yetis using the die from Mama Elephant “fba-Cat” dies. Last, I heat embossed the sentiment (from Lawn Fawn “Yeti, set, go” stamp set) on white on a strip of red cardstock and I adhered it using foam tape.

I love how this card tuned out! I hope you like it too!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Invites for Telmo’s Birthday Party

Hola!!

Today I’m sharing the invitations for my nephew’s birthday. Last year ones required a lot of coloring and for this year invites I decided to make almost all die cut cards. I used Mama Elephant super cute “fba-Monkey” dies. I love monkeys and you can make the cutest with this die set.

ME-InvitacionesTelmo2018a

First, I made 11 card bases from white cardstock. They are a little bit smaller than an A2 size card. Next, I used my MISTI to stamp the inside of the cards. For me, this is the more tedious part and I try to make it on an assembly line style because is a lot of stamping. I used Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABC” stamp set and Concord & 9th “Perfectly Penned” stamps for the word salvaje (wild). By the way, the text means “Come to my party! When:______ Where:______ It’s gonna be wild!”.

ME-InvitacionesTelmo2018d

For the background, I used some paper from Flying Tiger stores I found in my stash. This leafy pattern is great for these cards! Then, I die cut the pieces for the monkeys from several colors of Canson Mi-Teintes cardstock. This cardstock is meant for pastels and has a texture that I love and I use it a lot for my projects. In particular, I think it adds a lot to these die-cut animals. You can check this other project where I used Mi -Teintes cardstock too. Then I put together the monkeys. All the monkeys are different and that’s great because I find very boring making the same card twice. Once I had everything glued, I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and the noses and when it was dried, added some detail with a white gel pen. I also used a dauber and Worn Lipstick Distress ink to give some rosy cheeks to the monkeys. I think these last details add a lot to them!

ME-InvitacionesTelmo2018e

As I had to send these to my sister, I decided to make a box for the invites. I used Kraft cardstock for the box and decorated the lid using some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn “Let’s Polka in the Meadow” collection and another monkey. I used Neat and Tangled “Celebrate” die on black and white cardstock and glued it to the box lid so the monkey is holding the sentiment.

I’m very happy with this card set! I hope the recipients like them too!

Little Cats Birthday Card

Hi!!

Today I have a birthday card featuring Mama Elephant “Little Cat Agenda” stamps. I got the idea for this card from a friend. I showed her the picture you can see under these lines with some monkeys from Mama Elephant “Little Monkey Agenda” I had colored and she told me she loved the background, with a square in a different color behind each monkey. I told her those were ink cubes, but that I had to make a similar background because it was a great idea. So thank you very much, Isa! 🙂

Please, excuse the bad quality of this picture.

I used the smaller die from Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Scalloped Circles” and die cut nine scalloped circles from Bristol paper. I inked them in three different shades of primary colors using several Distress inks and Lawn Fawn inks. I must say I recently took Introduction to Color Theory class from Online Card Classes and now I feel more comfortable choosing the colors for my cards.

Next, I stamped the images on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and colored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I die cut all the kitties using coordinating dies. I used foam tape to glue the scalloped circles to the card base and also to pop-up the cats.

ME-LittleHooray2018b

For the sentiment, I used Mama Elephant “Hooray Script” die. I stacked five white die cuts and glued a black one on top to get a good dimensional sentiment. To complete the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn “Out of this World” stamps, with some masking to get the words as I wanted. I heat embossed it in white on a thin stripe of black cardstock I glued under the hooray using foam tape. To finish the card, I had to add some sequins from Neat and Tangled “Party Mix”.

I love how this turned out! I hope you like it too.

Party in the Moon Card

Hi!!!

Today I’m sharing the birthday card I made for my hubby. We have two cats: Grumpy is his cat and Sakura is mine. I wanted us to be represented by our cats in this card.

LF-CumpleAitor2018a

So the idea behind this card is that some aliens are abducting Grumpy while she is sleeping! I inked a piece of watercolor paper with Distress inks and flickered some water, Perfect Pearls and white paint to get a starry sky. I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn “Beam Me Up” and “Meow You Doin’” stamp sets and colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used coordinating dies to die cut the images from “Beam Me Up”, and fussy cut the ones from “Meow You Doin’”.

LF-CumpleAitor2018c

The spaceship beam is heat embossed with WOW Clear Hologram Sparkle embossing powder.

I used Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Scalloped Circles” dies to die cut a window on the card base and the same die to die cut a piece of black cardstock I had previously die cut with Lawn Fawn “Forest border” dies. I used the MISTI to stamp the sentiment curved into the card front.

LF-CumpleAitor2018b

When we open the card, we have a pop-up scene: the aliens have taken Grumpy to a party in the moon that Sakura had organized to celebrate her birthday!! 🙂

LF-CumpleAitor2018d

All the images are colored with the same markers. Here I also used Lawn Fawn “Out Of This World” stamps and dies and “Let’s Bokeh” stamps to make the space helmet for my cats.

LF-CumpleAitor2018f

For the galaxy background, I blended Distress inks on Bristol paper and flickered some water, Perfect Pearls, and white paint. For the moon ground, I used Pumice Stone Distress ink and spritzed some water. I used Lawn Fawn “Everyday Pop-ups” dies to pop up the moon hills, which are die cut with Lawn Fawn “Stitched Hillside Borders” dies. I also used acetate pieces to make some pop-up elements for Grumpy and Sakura, who is floating in the space.

I looooove this card! It turned out just as I had imagined. Hope you like it too!!!

Snow globe shaped cards

Hola!!

Today I’m sharing a couple of snow globe shaped cards but instead of Christmasy, they are fall and Halloweeny ones. I used Lawn Fawn “Ready, Set, Snow” add-on dies, which are great for shaker cards!

LF-SGFall02

First, let’s take a look at the fall themed shaker.

LF-SGFall03

I used Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp Stamptember collaboration stamp, “Nutty or Nice”. I fell in love with this stamp set and I wanted to use it not only for Christmas cards. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut them. By the way, the branch is from Lawn Fawn “Home Sweet Home” stamp set and the sentiment from Lawn Fawn “Ready, Set Shake” stamp set.

LF-SGFall04

I used “Ready, Set, Snow” add-on dies on watercolor paper and inked the pieces with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress inks. For the snow globe base, I used kraft cardstock. I stamped the “Woodgrain Backdrop” stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then used Walnut Stain Distress ink to darken the edges. Finally, I added the leaves to the shaker, for which I used Mama Elephant “Birch Trees” dies.

LF-SGFall05

Now, let’s check the Halloween themed card.

LF-SGFall06

For this shaker, I used Mama Elephant “Meowlloween Extras” stamp set. I colored the images with Zigs and fussy cut everything. That was a lot of fussy cutting!! But totally worth it, because I love the candy corn as shaker element. I used Mama Elephant “Picket Fence” die on black cardstock to add a spooky fence and inked the scene with Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves Distress inks.

LF-SGFall07

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. Last, I added all the small pieces of candy corn and closed the shaker.

Flying Alligators

Hello!!

Today I’m sharing a photo tutorial I made for Neat and Tangled Throwdown Challenge.

I wanted to use images from “Later Alligator” and “So Fly” stamp sets, and to fit all the images I decided to make a trifold card.

NT-Flying Alligators2018d

Let’s begin the tutorial!

First, I placed the stamps on my MISTI and stamped the images on some Canson Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx black ink.

Then, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color all the images. The colors I used are listed in the images. You can see in the pictures a bunch of images from “Big Top Birthday” that I didn’t use in the card, but I think the alligators eating ice cream would be hilarious 🙂 Also in picture #6, you can see I the banner from “So Fly” stamp set too. Once everything was colored I die cut the images using coordinating dies.

For my card, I trimmed down a piece of Strathmore Bristol paper to 12 3/4 in X 5 1/2 in. I prefer this paper for the card because is sturdier than the one I used to stamp my images. I used MFT Cloud stencil with Tattered Rose, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw Distress inks to get a cloudy background. I apologize because the pictures are not very good, but the background is so pretty! You can see in picture #8 I went a little bit too heavy handed with Scattered Straw on the left side, but I think it looks like the sun is right behind those clouds 🙂

To make the balloons for the alligators I used Neat and Tangled “Balloon Duo” stencil, masking the area around the stencil with some post-it tape. I used Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress inks and I tried to concentrate the color in the bottom right corner and fade it at the top left corner of the balloon, it that makes sense. I love that you can see the clouds behind the balloons! Next, I scored the card base at 4 1/4 from each side, as indicated in picture #10.

I used Neat and Tangled “Scandinavian Prints” stamp set to stamp the strings of the balloons for the alligators to hold. I stamped the sentiment as well using Versafine Onyx black ink.

I used liquid glue to adhere my images to the card and added some detail to the images using a white gel pen and used a Sakura Black Glaze pen for the eyes of the critters.

Here you have some pictures of the finished card:
