Today I have a birthday card featuring Mama Elephant “Little Cat Agenda” stamps. I got the idea for this card from a friend. I showed her the picture you can see under these lines with some monkeys from Mama Elephant “Little Monkey Agenda” I had colored and she told me she loved the background, with a square in a different color behind each monkey. I told her those were ink cubes, but that I had to make a similar background because it was a great idea. So thank you very much, Isa! 🙂
I used the smaller die from Lawn Fawn “Outside in Stitched Scalloped Circles” and die cut nine scalloped circles from Bristol paper. I inked them in three different shades of primary colors using several Distress inks and Lawn Fawn inks. I must say I recently took Introduction to Color Theory class from Online Card Classes and now I feel more comfortable choosing the colors for my cards.
Next, I stamped the images on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx black ink and colored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then, I die cut all the kitties using coordinating dies. I used foam tape to glue the scalloped circles to the card base and also to pop-up the cats.
For the sentiment, I used Mama Elephant “Hooray Script” die. I stacked five white die cuts and glued a black one on top to get a good dimensional sentiment. To complete the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn “Out of this World” stamps, with some masking to get the words as I wanted. I heat embossed it in white on a thin stripe of black cardstock I glued under the hooray using foam tape. To finish the card, I had to add some sequins from Neat and Tangled “Party Mix”.
I love how this turned out! I hope you like it too.
