Hola!!

Today I’m sharing the invitations for my nephew’s birthday. Last year ones required a lot of coloring and for this year invites I decided to make almost all die cut cards. I used Mama Elephant super cute “fba-Monkey” dies. I love monkeys and you can make the cutest with this die set.

First, I made 11 card bases from white cardstock. They are a little bit smaller than an A2 size card. Next, I used my MISTI to stamp the inside of the cards. For me, this is the more tedious part and I try to make it on an assembly line style because is a lot of stamping. I used Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABC” stamp set and Concord & 9th “Perfectly Penned” stamps for the word salvaje (wild). By the way, the text means “Come to my party! When:______ Where:______ It’s gonna be wild!”.

For the background, I used some paper from Flying Tiger stores I found in my stash. This leafy pattern is great for these cards! Then, I die cut the pieces for the monkeys from several colors of Canson Mi-Teintes cardstock. This cardstock is meant for pastels and has a texture that I love and I use it a lot for my projects. In particular, I think it adds a lot to these die-cut animals. You can check this other project where I used Mi -Teintes cardstock too. Then I put together the monkeys. All the monkeys are different and that’s great because I find very boring making the same card twice. Once I had everything glued, I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and the noses and when it was dried, added some detail with a white gel pen. I also used a dauber and Worn Lipstick Distress ink to give some rosy cheeks to the monkeys. I think these last details add a lot to them!

As I had to send these to my sister, I decided to make a box for the invites. I used Kraft cardstock for the box and decorated the lid using some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn “Let’s Polka in the Meadow” collection and another monkey. I used Neat and Tangled “Celebrate” die on black and white cardstock and glued it to the box lid so the monkey is holding the sentiment.

I’m very happy with this card set! I hope the recipients like them too!

I’m entering this project into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Gift it

Thank you for stopping by! Have an amazing day!
