Christmas shaker card

Hi!!

I wanted to share with you the last Christmas card I made last year. I shared it on Instagram but I wanted to publish it here on my blog too. I used Mama Elephant “Pix’s happy holidays” stamps, which are super cute, and Lawn Fawn “Ready, set, snow shaker add-on”. These dies are fantastic because you can create the most amazing shakers, not only for Christmas but for any occasion.

First, I stamped the bunny with Versafine Onyx black in on Bristol paper, colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and fussy cut it. I added Wink of Stella to the bunny’s wings. Next, I stamped the snow globe from “Ready set snow” stamp set with Memento Tuxedo black ink on Bristol paper, colored it with ShinHan Touch Twin markers, and used the coordinating dies. Then, I stamped the plaque with Versafine Onyx black ink, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, and colored it with a gold gel pen.

I wanted the shaker element to be an ornament that could be hung and also a magnetic decoration. I had some magnetic leftovers from a super cool set of Mario Bros. magnets a friend gifted me that I could use on my project. So I glued a piece of magnetic sheet to the center of the card base and then adhered the pattern paper panel from Lawn Fawn “Knit picky” collection. By the way, I love this paper collection because I’m a huge fan of Christmas sweaters!

Here is the magnetic ornament on my fridge. You can see my Mario Bros. magnets too 😀

Next, I mounted the shaker element. I used “Ready, set, snow shaker add-on” twice on some fun foam and glued the two pieces together. I glued some clear thread to the backside of the bunny and adhered the thread between these two layers of fun foam because I wanted the bunny to be a suspended element but apparently there is not enough room for it to move. Then, I glued the fun foam to the back side of the snow globe that is die cut from some pattern paper too. I added a piece of magnetic sheet in the lower part of the snow globe, between the fun foam and the back panel. After using my anti-static tool to remove the stickiness, I added some Lawn Fawn glitter (I used both, chunky and prisma) and close the shaker with a piece of acetate and the front piece of the snow globe. Last, I added the sentiment plaque with foam tape and place the shaker element on the front of the card, where is attached thanks to the magnets.

I hope you like this shaker card!

Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing day!
