Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card I made using mirror stamping technique. I used the amazing Mama Elephant “Tandem Ride” stamp set, designed by Luli Bunny. How cute are these critters? The first time I saw this stamp set I thought it maybe didn’t had many possibilities because all the animals are looking in the same direction. But then I thought I could mirror stamp the images for many more possibilities and now I wanna buy the “Tandem Extras” stamp set! 🙂

My first idea was to make a picnic card. Yay! I love picnics!! For placing my critters face to face I mirror stamped the bear using my MISTI. The mirror stamped image was not perfect but I fixed it with a Sakura black glaze gel pen. Then I stamped all the other images with VersaFine onyx black ink on Canson Bristol paper and colored everything using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

For the picnic gingham I stamped Lawn Fawn “Gingham Backdrops” big stamp on regular cardstock with Memento lady bug ink, and for the tree I stamped Lawn Fawn “Woodgrain Backdrops” stamp on Bristol paper using Memento peanut brittle ink. When I colored this background the stamped ink got darker, the effect I was looking for.

For the sky, the hill and the tree top I used color cardstock. I don’t have any die cutting machine so I cut the hillside and the tree trunk with scissors, and the tree top using Martha Stewart circle cutter. I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn “Gingham Backdrops” stamp set on the sky using Memento tuxedo black ink and, finally, I adhered everything together with double sided tape, foam tape and Tombow mono multi liquid glue for the smallest pieces.

I wish I had a die cutting machine to make this kind of cards. I really wish those wonderful hillside dies, grass dies, tree dies… I hope I have a Big Shot soon!! I know I will use it to make variations of this card using Distress inks or patterned papers for the sky, the tree and the hill.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

This card is being entered into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes:
