Hola!

Today we’re celebrating father’s day in Spain and I want to show you the card I made for my dad. I used the new Lawn Fawn “Beam me up” stamp set and coordinating dies. This is my favorite of their last release. I love the aliens!!

For this card, I didn’t use any coloring medium because I thought the aliens would look nice paper pieced. So I stamped the images on Lawn Fawn patterned paper (“Let’s polka in the meadow” collection) with Memento Tuxedo black ink and fussy cut them. As I knew I wanted a dark background, I used coordinating “Beam me up” dies on white cardstock and glued the images to the die-cut pieces to have a white border on my images. I used a silver gel pen to color the flag and the edge of the UFOS and a red pen for the UFOs’ lights and for the little heart on the flag.

For the background, I die cut a piece of patterned paper (Lawn Fawn “Beachside” collection) using Mama Elephant “Peek a frame” dies. For making the hill of the aliens’ planet, I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched ovals” dies and again the same Mama Elephant die to have the stitching detail. I used red because I was thinking about Mars 🙂 Next, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it on white. The first line of the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn “Dad + Me” stamp set. Once I had this stamp set out, I thought the mustache will look great on the big alien, so I went ahead and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
