CASometry Challenge 3: Stage 1

Hi!

I’m so excited because I’m participating in Anna Kossakovskaya‘s CASometry Challenge 3. Randomizer! For the first stage, I had to pick a random stamp set as the main focus for my card, and then choose any geometric shape.

I asked my boyfriend to choose a stamp set for me, and he selected Lawn Fawn “Booyah” stamp set. I told him “What?! A Halloween stamp set? A Halloween card on April?” And he said, “Why do you say this is a Halloween stamp set?” I was like “you know, because of the ghosts, the costumes, the Halloween sentiments…” Hehehe, anyway, I loooooove this set my sister gifted me on Christmas! I think it’s super fun and I was looking forward to using it, and now I have the perfect pretext :p The geometric shape I chose was Simon Says Stamp “Triangle Border Craft” die.

First, I trimmed a piece of black cardstock, die cut it with the “Triangle Border” die, and glued it to another piece of black cardstock. Then I die cut three pieces of purple, orange, and green cardstock and saved the little triangles for making die cut inlaying. It was a little bit time-consuming but totally worth it! I trimmed six stripes of color cardstock, two of each color, and adhered them to the upper and bottom part of the card base. After that, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink, heat embossed it using white embossing powder, and adhered this panel with foam tape to the card base.

Last, I stamped the images on Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink, colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, fussy cut, and adhered everything to the front panel with foam tape.

I’m quite happy with the result! What do you think?
