Hi!!

Today I’m sharing another card inspired by video games. I really enjoy playing video games with my husband. Actually, a month ago we got a Nintendo Switch and we’ve been playing a lot since then! So I guess this card is perfect for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge: My Favorite Place.

I don’t know if you are into video games, but the one which inspired this card is quite old. Oh, I have spent many happy hours playing Monkey Island! And since Lawn Fawn released “Ahoy, Matey” stamps I wanted to color the pirates like Elaine and Guybrush. I also wanted the people who’ve played Monkey Island realize that the card is inspired by it, so I had to add the three-headed monkey, using  Lawn Fawn and Ellen Hutson “Love Ya’ Bunches” stamps 🙂

So I colored the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers like the characters and fussy cut them. I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched hillside borders” and Mama Elephant “Ocean Waves Trio” dies to make the sand and the sea, and inked these pieces and the sky panel with Distress Inks.

For the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABC” stamps. This is one of the most popular quotes of the video game!

Although I like this card, in my mind this was going to be great, and I don’t feel like it is. I may try something different inspired by the same theme to see if I got something that I like more!

So tell me, do you enjoy video games? Do you get inspired by your hobbies to make cards?

I’m entering this card into Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #34 – My Favorite Place

and into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: DistressIt

Thanks for stopping by!!
